Wildlife Conservation Fund (WCF)

Zoos and aquariums play an important role in safeguarding, recovering and supporting wildlife and their habitats. To support this, ZAA created the Wildlife Conservation Fund to raise funds for conservation activities. The fund is a registered deductible gift recipient (DGR) and is registered under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

The Wildlife Conservation Committee (WCC) oversees the management of the WCF. Funds raised through the WCF go towards their allocated conservation activities in their entirety. ZAA does not retain WCF funds for administrative costs or staff wages.

The Wildlife Conservation Fund played a significant role in disaster response, wildlife recovery and research during the 2019-2020 Australian drought and bushfires. Learn more about our funded projects below.
