Melbourne Zoo’s most famous Asian Elephant calf, Mali, will be visiting fifty lucky Victorian schools – in sculpture form!
As part of Melbourne Zoo’s 150th birthday celebrations, the Learning Experiences department is proud to announce the launch of Mali in My School, a wonderful opportunity for all Victorian schools.
Your school has the chance to design, paint and exhibit one of fifty mini-Malis alongside others being painted by renowned Australian artists.
We are now accepting submissions for this exciting project, which is open to all year levels and schools of all sizes. If your school is successful and selected, a 70cm fibreglass elephant will be delivered to your door. These mini-Malis form a blank 3D canvas for students – ready for innovative, quirky, inspiring and environmentally-conscious designs.
If you would like to paint an elephant and be showcased alongside Melbourne’s artistic elite, please visit http://www.zoo.org.au/MIMS for more information.
