Melissa joined the Zoo and Aquarium Association in April 2018. Her role includes providing administrative support for the office and the members of ZAA. Her background in Animal Health and Welfare is what drew her to ZAA as she is particularly interested in zoo animal welfare.
She has worked in companion animal health and animal husbandry for the previous five years, where she mainly focused on feline boarding but also spent some time performing keeper duties in the US in a zoological park. Throughout her studies Melissa also completed an internship with Humane Research Australia looking at welfare issues for animals in research.
