You will provide a level of care, enrichment and husbandry to ensure appropriate welfare and standards are maintained for the relevant animal collection. You will train and share responsibility for presenting our mammals in our live shows, keeper talks and interactive programs. You will be required to pass relevant audition criteria including swimming, training knowledge test and speaking on a microphone.
This is a leadership position providing support to the Director of Life Sciences at Adelaide Zoo, and contributes to the development and operation of the organisation by participating as a member of the Life Sciences management team. You will be responsible for managing Adelaide Zoos Curatorial team, and providing oversight for animal welfare and husbandry standards across Adelaide Zoo.

Walkabout Park’s volunteer trainees learn how to perform all aspects of animal husbandry and habitat management for over 60 species of Australian native and small farm animals, do presentations for visitors on the animals, the bush and local Aboriginal history, and keep the visitor facilities clean and well presented.
