Libby has worked and lived in the zoo world since 1986, during which time she has fulfilled roles including zoo keeping, vet nursing, collection management, department management, exhibit planning, animal transport, guiding and interpretation. In February 2015 Libby joined the ZAA team where she works as Senior Accreditation Officer, undertaking accreditation site visits to member facilities, writing reports and participating in forums with subject-matter experts and peers. She also develops and provides ZAA Member training and materials associated with supporting positive animal welfare.
Libby has previously worked in areas including community development, education, science communications and livestock management.
Libby holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Social Ecology), TAFE qualifications in Animal Husbandry, Zoo Keeping and Veterinary Nursing. She is also deeply passionate about animal welfare, organic gardening and living sustainably.
