The opportunity:
Paradise Country is seeking a passionate, motivated, and proactive Wildlife Keeper and
animal trainer to work within the Wildlife department. This role involves involvement with 
numerous native Australian species and has the potential to expand into working with our 
exotic species. 

Your day to day:
• Undertake animal husbandry and exhibit maintenance tasks to maintain 
excellent health of all animals as well as ensuring the exhibit presentation 
standards are maintained at all times
• Handle wildlife for guest interactives 
• Facilitate relevant education talks, school programs and interactive tours to 
provide an educational & conservational experience to guests and students
• Maintain excellent hygiene practices at all times in diet preparation, 
presentation, and storage
• Participate in rotation and auditing of stock
• Ensure equipment is checked & maintained daily and ensure procedures are 
followed should equipment be faulty or require replacement
• Be responsible for punctuality to all animal presentations, tours, programs and 
guest experiences

What you’ll bring:
• Certificate III in captive animal studies or equivalent – Essential
• Animal handling experience - Essential
• Experience with exotic animals an advantage 
• Experience with animal training and positive reinforcement an advantage
• Minimum 2 years demonstrated experience working with Australian wildlife & 
sound knowledge of animal husbandry. Either paid or volunteer- Essential
• Previous Koala handling experience an advantage
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guest service experience
• Public speaking experience - Essential
• Sound knowledge of current wildlife and environmental challenges to 
conservation
• Manual Driver’s license an advantage
