The ZAA Wildlife Conservation Fund is the public fund of the Zoo and Aquarium Association. The Association’s mission is “to harness the collective resources of zoos and aquariums to conserve biodiversity in the natural environment” and links zoos and aquariums in Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific in a cooperative regional network for wildlife conservation. All member institutions support the principles outlined in the World Zoo and Aquarium Conservation Strategy. The combined effect of zoos and aquariums can have an increased impact on safeguarding wildlife and habitats and the ZAA Wildlife Conservation Fund is committed to enabling this.
The ZAA Wildlife Conservation Fund is a registered deductible gift recipient (DGR), in addition to being registered under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). The Wildlife Conservation Committee (WCC), a sub-committee of the Association Board, oversees the management of the ZAA Wildlife Conservation Fund.
