ZAA Biennial Conferences
The Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA) Biennial Conference provides the opportunity for ZAA members to come together as an industry to share ideas, discuss zoo and aquarium developments and to network. Hosted every 2 years by a member organisation, the Biennial Conference explores a range of topics based on a common theme. Expressions of interest to host the ZAA Biennial conference occurs every two years prior to the event. The next Biennial Conference will be hosted by Wellington Zoo, New Zealand in May 2018.
ZAA Learning and Development Workshops
Every other year ZAA hosts Learning and Development Workshops which run for 3 days. These workshops are designed to share ideas and best-practice and to work together to achieve higher standards of education, research, conservation and animal welfare. This year the Learning and Development Workshops were held at Sea World, Gold Coast, Australia. The next Workshop will be held in Sydney in 2019.
Both the Biennial Conference and the Learning and Development Workshops are usually scheduled in May and are important for shaping the direction of the Association. In order to fulfil the legal requirements of an Incorporated Association, the ZAA Annual General Meeting (AGM) is also held in conjunction with the both events.
