Zoo and Aquarium Association

Queensland Branch

The proposal to establish a Queensland Branch of the Zoo and Aquarium Association was accepted by the membership in 2003.

The new branch resulted from a merger between the Zoo and Aquarium Association (previously known as ARAZPA) and the Queensland Wildlife Parks Association (QWPA). In 2002, the QWPA membership voted to disband as a separate organisation and become the ARAZPA Queensland Branch (ARAZPAQ), or now known as the Zoo and Aquarium Association Queensland Branch. This represents a significant step towards the vision of a single representative zoo and aquarium body for the region.
